Here's a list of the playgrounds built or renovated in 2019 and 2020 Seneca Lake State ParkThis has always been one of our favorite parks to visit and the new playground makes it even better! There is a large splash pad, a beach and three playgrounds all within walking distance. The playground nearest the splash pad reopened recently with new play equipment mixed in with some of the old. The playground is very large and the equipment is great for such a large age range. It is $7 per vehicle to enter the park. The visit is well worth the $7, however, the fee can be avoided by loaning a State Park Pass from the Library or visiting outside of the collecting hours. Columbus ParkBuilt in the summer of 2020 and located at Columbus Park in Greece, this a quaint playground great for a variety of ages. The new playground design is unique, with some fun elements like a tree to climb to get to the slide and the bouncy seesaw. There is a nice big open field next to the playground to run around in as well. Bring a blanket to picnic in the shade! Jack's Place at Webster ParkThere's a second Jack's Place! This one is within Webster Park across the lake and pier (intersection of Lake Rd & Holt Rd). This new playground opened in the late summer of 2020 and is very similar to the one at Rothfuss Park with a couple new additions. The dinosaur bone digging area contains blue rubber mulch rather sand- Bring some shovels for the kids! This one is also in direct sun so pack those sunhats. Check out the JACK Foundation Facebook page and jack-foundation.org to learn more about why these playgrounds came to be and how you can help. Henrietta Rec CeneterThe Henrietta Rec Center finished up their fenced in and padded-play-surface playground early 2020. However, it is sometimes unavailable to the public so that it can be used by the rec center's camps. Call ahead before visiting or plan to go to the nearby Veteran's Memorial Park if this one is in use. Pineway PondsThis playground in Spencerport was renovated in June 2019.
