Pros: Ballantyne Park has 3 simple things: a giant spider for climbing (perfect for Halloween), swings, and a good ole fashioned metal slide (don’t ya just feel like a kid again when you go flying down one of those?). If you happen to need a break while shopping in Henrietta, this is a great, quiet, fenced in place for the kiddos to get some energy out.
Cons: This playground is not fully fenced in and very simple. Kids will likely be done exploring after 15 minutes |

Pros: The playground of Black Creek is clean and fairly large. There is a bathroom shelter nearby and a lot of open space for running. Also within the park is fishing and hiking. Along one of the hiking paths, you can find, "fairy houses!" There is also a large sledding hill!
Cons: The hiking trails are not well marked and can be confusing when navigating inside the woods. Many spots of the trails are muddy/swampy so boots or sneakers are recommended. Notes: To find the fairy houses: Turn Left after entering Black Creek Park off of Union and park in the Trail Head parking lot. Walk along the large rocks to the large path on the right and turn right into the woods at the Fairy Trail Sign. Most fairy houses are small painted birdhouses and hanging higher up in trees. If hitting up the playground first, it is likely easiest to drive from the playground to the trailhead parking lot if you have a toddler walking alongside you. The Fairy trail is not stroller friendly. Check for ticks! |

Pros: A large park with a baseball field, tennis courts, a basketball court, and a playground. There is lots of room to run and a covered pavilion. The surrounding nature is beautiful!
Cons: There were no visible public restrooms but the park is directly across the street from a nice Speedway and other businesses. This park borders a high traffic area and it’s not fully fenced in. Notes: Be aware of the small creek that runs through the park. Watch your little ones! Consider checking out “Burger XPress” (one of Chili’s newest businesses!) and then taking a trip to the past with one of the last remaining video stores. |

Pros: There’s a Kwik Fill across the street that always seems to be receiving deliveries from big trucks. Put kids in the baby swings facing that direction and chances are they will be entertained for a long time. Town trucks, delivery trucks, and city busses travel by frequently. There's lots of distance between the park and road. It is also very close to the library and Mcdonald's.
Cons: There is no fencing and be mindful of the creek! |

What We Love: The playground is specifically targeted for young kids and toddlers so there is usually no worry of older kids taking over!

Pros: Union Station is a free park featuring a spacious splash pad and a toddler-sized playground. The park is removed from the road and surrounded by open fields. A paved trail can be found around the perimeter of the park.
Cons: The pavilion is small and seating in the shade is very limited Notes: Dogs not allowed in splash pad. Reported car break-ins. Union Station Park is minutes from Black Creek Park where you can find sledding, fishing and wooded hiking. |
