TOWN OF HENRIETTA

HENRIETTA REC CENTER

605 Calkins Rd Rochester, NY 14623
Description:  This is a beautifully constructed playground. It is on the smaller side, but still has 4 slides! The best part is it is completely covered. There are even picnic benches available. Within walking distance is the Veteran Memorial playground!
Notes: There was sign stating that the playground is reserved M-F 8am-6pm.

KENWICK PARK

165 Kenwick Dr, Rochester, NY 14623
Description:  This is a small and simple playground surrounded by flat open fields. It is nestled amongst the Westbrooke Commons apartments and widely used by the community there.
Notes: There are no picnic tables, benches or bathrooms on site.

MARTIN ROAD PARK

1344 Martin Rd, Rush, NY 14543
Pros:  We visited Martin Road Park in early March and were pleased to find open and heated bathroom facilities! There was also a well stocked little library and a pond for catch and release fishing. There is plenty of room to run around, regular and baby swings and several playground structures. There is an open air pavilion nearby with a grill and tables.
Cons: The playground is well removed from the road but fairly close to the parking lot. Some may find the nearby pond to add to the beauty of the park while others may find it a hazard as their children run and play.

TINKER PARK

1525 Calkins Rd, Pittsford, NY 14534
What We Love: The Nature Center and its "Please Touch" area is one of my favorite features of Tinker Park. The center is free to enter and is filled with educational opportunities!
Pros: Tinker park is another unique park with plenty of educational opportunities. The nature center is free to enter and exhibits a variety of live (turtles and snakes) and stuffed animals. There is a "please touch" station within the nature center and opportunities for educational classes. Also within the park is a playground, fitness trail and interactive hiking trail.
Cons: There is poison ivy along trails. The playground is small and geared toward older children. Bathrooms near playground are for pavilion rentals only. However, there is an accessible bathroom within and near the nature center.
Notes: Nature Center is open 9:00-4:00, Tuesday-Saturday. No dogs allowed.

VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK- HENRIETTA

Calkins Rd and Memorial Dr.
Pros: Veterans Memorial park features a large multi-aged playground. It also has a nice shaded picnic area for food after a long day of play. The park is well maintained and is filled with recreational opportunities such as softball, soccer, bocce, volleyball, tennis and basketball. A 3/4 Mile Fitness Course can also be found within the park.
Cons: The park can get heavily populated.
