Cooper Rd, Rochester, NY 14617
|
Pros: Much like Pardee Play Area, Bristol Tot Lot is fully fenced in and not heavily populated. There is room to run and swings for all ages and abilities.
Cons: Given its name and fenced in design, you'd expect to see more toddler appropriate play structures. The playground is small and the equipment doesn't keep attention for too long. |
Camp Eastman Way, Rochester, NY 14617
|
Pros: Camp Eastman offers a secluded splash pad and playground open and free to the public. The playground has a padded surface and is widespread- offering plenty of space for children to run around and play. Children can then cool off in the small spray pad area right near the playground. Camp Eastman is directly across Durand Eastman Beach, which offers opportunities for swimming, hiking and grilling.
Cons: Splash pad is on a timer and therefore water output pauses every few minutes. Notes: Playground and Splash Pad by Kusak Lodge. Camp is located off of Lakeshore Blvd. Grilling and hiking can be found across the street at Durand Eastman Beach. Splash pad contains tall fountains and may be more appropriate for older kids. |

Description: This playground is almost entirely fenced in with an opening for the entrance. There is a decent sized field right outside the fence. This is an older playground with many classic structures and two different play areas for various ages. There is also a swing set with an adaptive swig, baby swing and regular swings.
Notes: During our visit in early November 2020 part of the fence along the field was missing. However, the fence lining the busy road was fully intact. There are no bathrooms on site. |

1579 Winton Rd N, Irondequoit, NY
|
Pros: This is a small playground right off of Empire Boulevard so it makes for a fun stop while running errands in this part of town. McAvoy Park is heavily used for its athletic field so their are plenty of lights offering light for later evening playing. The play surface is padded, rather than mulch and much of the play area is fenced in!
Cons: The area can get loud and busy. Though much of the playground is fenced in, it is not entirely enclosed or gated. |
113 Pardee Rd Rochester, NY 14609
|
Pros: Pardee Park can be found within a neighborhood and is not heavily populated. The playground is fenced in with a grassy area in the back for running and picnics. There is also a variety of swings to meet many ages and abilities.
Cons: Pardee Park is your average playground with the major pro being its location. The park is small without much else to do other than enjoy the playground. There are no bathrooms or outhouses at this park and not many opportunities for a public restroom near by. |
75 Wahl Rd, Irondequoit, NY
|
Description: This lot of land, tucked away in a residential setting, was generously donated by Jessica Lamb. Jessica is a community member who recently (2017) survived a home invasion. She decided to turn her experience into something good and donated her lot of land to the town when she decided to sell her home. In 2019 the town created this beautiful playground. Named after her late golden retriever Sadie, Sadie's place is absolutely beautiful! The park is almost entirely fenced in (minus the entrance). There are two large play structures, perfect for toddlers through pre-teens! This park does not seem to have a lot of traffic, so it is a great go to on those hot days.
Notes: There is not a parking lot, just park in the grass in front of the park. The playground is wide open, and does not offer any shade. There are two small benches to sit. Please note there are no swings at this location. |
